The 31st Annual Experience featuring American and European Roadsters, Sports, and Touring cars 1915-1965 opened on a sunny Michigan evening with a slight breeze. With live guitar background music, attendees enjoyed cocktails with friends while touring fine art and bidding in the silent auction before the customary barbecue dinner under the tent. Museum President, Howard Freedman, welcomed all and announced that due to a last minute medical issue Clive Cussler could not join us. Nevertheless, what a relaxing evening it was!
The Experience Dinner Gala, held at the Radisson Plaza Hotel in Kalamazoo, began with live music, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and a silent auction. Guests had time to visit with friends, compete for items in the silent auction, and contemplate items to be auctioned after dinner. Items offered were original paintings by Sue Steele Thomas (poster artist), Dan Brown, Brandon Hochstetler, and Dan McCrary along with VIP packages to Amelia Island and Pebble Beach, as well as a small collection of Clive Cussler books, a “walk-on” part in an upcoming Cussler book, and fantastic getaways to Snowmass, Colorado donated by Ray and Barbara Giudice and to Tuscany, Italy donated by Bill and Chris Snyder. A huge thank you to our generous donors!
Emcee, magician, and auctioneer David Charvet captivated us with magic tricks, one of which produced numerous bottles of the exact wine, one at a time seemingly out of nowhere. How did he do that?
A huge thank you to our advertisers and sponsors along with Candace Haag and JoAnn McManus for your support in making this event happen!
